Editorial policy

Our guides help people in Australia understand sick leave, carer’s leave and medical certificates. They are general information, not personal medical or legal advice.

Sources

We base workplace and leave information on primary sources, mainly the Fair Work Ombudsman and the Fair Work Act 2009, and practitioner information on Ahpra. Every guide lists its sources and the date we checked them.

Review

Guides are written by the Click Clinic editorial team. Any guide that gives health advice is reviewed by a registered practitioner before it’s published, and the reviewer is named on the page. Each guide shows when it was last reviewed.

Updates and corrections

We review guides when the law or official guidance changes, and at least once a year. If you spot an error, email [email protected] and we’ll check it promptly.

Independence

Guides explain your options honestly, including when another option, such as a statutory declaration or seeing a GP in person, may suit you better.
